Simply put, a speech and/ or language delay is present when a child cannot understand or use language appropriate to their age. These delays may impact how they produce speech sounds (articulation), understand/ process language (Receptive Language) or how they use language (Expressive Language). Your clinician will give you detailed information specific to your child’s delays and their expected needs.

Some insurance companies require a doctor's referral before a Speech-Language evaluation can be scheduled. Give us a call and we can review your individual policy and help determine what you will need. If you are "Self-Pay", call us and we will email you the enrollment paperwork and schedule your child's evaluation.
After a detailed evaluation is performed, your clinician will recommend a frequency and duration of services. Many children will see a therapist one to two times per week for 30-40 minutes.
Services will generally be performed at our clinic in a one-on-one setting. Occasionally we can work with private or public schools/ daycares to arrange services to be implemented there but this will be on a case-by-case basis and dependent on the individual facility.
Because school-based speech therapists carry such large case loads (often 70- 100 students), students who are seen through the public schools are often seen in small groups. Private (out-patient) therapy is specialized to your child in a one-on-one setting. One clinician will work with your child with the option for parents to be present for part (or all) of the session (depending on the needs of the child). “Private” therapy allows us to provide targeted and intensive therapy and move at your child’s pace.
Give us a call! We can help check your benefits and/ or discuss payment options! Some insurance providers will cover a portion of the cost for out-of-network providers.
